Discover the transformative journey of Women United, where collective action empowers women and girls, fosters purpose, and builds a vibrant community for all.
Imagine a world where women can thrive without bias, discrimination, or limitations. A world where women receive equal pay for equal work. Where women and girls no longer comprise two-thirds of family violence victims. Where equitable opportunities await women in every sphere of life – be it at work, at home, or within society. Imagine a world where women are key contributors to philanthropy in our community. Through Women United, we can use our collective generosity and action to create that world.
United Way’s Women United initiative is a vibrant force for meaningful social change, focused on ensuring women have full and equal access to resources and opportunities to help them overcome intersectional barriers to success.
Women United supporters come together to create a brighter future for women and their families. But it’s not just about giving; it’s about gaining a sense of purpose, developing a deeper understanding of the issues affecting women and girls, and becoming part of a powerful collective of changemakers. Let’s embark on a journey through the inspiring stories of Women United champions and discover how Women United adds value to each of their lives.
For many, supporting Women United is a journey toward discovering purpose and affecting meaningful change in our community. Whether you’re a monthly donor, a dedicated volunteer, or a passionate cabinet member, you’re at the forefront of initiatives that aim to create an equitable and just community where ALL women and girls can thrive.

Women United champions come from diverse backgrounds, each having encountered their own unique set of biases, discriminations, inequities, and barriers in achieving personal and professional goals.
For some, it’s been a challenge to earn respect and credibility in their chosen career paths. For others, they are exhausted having to balance their career with family and household responsibilities.
As Women United co-chair Heather MacCallum puts it: “We unite because we all believe in building a strong community, yet our reasons, backgrounds, and personalities are all so different.”

“Meeting other like-minded individuals and creating new relationships where we can collaborate together to empower women—that’s what excites me most,” shares Ashley Blanchard. “I have been able to grow my network, learn new skills, and feel good about giving back to the women in my community.”
