Not every local family has the means to buy their children school supplies. Help reduce a known barrier preventing children and youth from successful learning and engaged participation in the classroom at Women United’s Day of Caring Connect.
At this hands-on volunteer opportunity in support of United Way’s Tools for School initiative, you’ll join others in the Women United network to fill backpacks with classroom essentials for vulnerable children in our region.
Last year, United Way volunteers filled more than 16,000 backpacks for Kindergarten to Grade 12 students through Tools for School, ensuring that thousands of children in our region had what they needed to attend school and complete their assignments.
This year, with rising costs and inflation impacting local families, United Way expects the demand for school supplies to be greater than ever. That’s where you come in!
