Give for Good - United Way Alberta Capital Region

Give for Good

Give for Good is an online platform that’s safe and secure to donate items to those who need them most in our community. This is a new initiative by United Way of the Alberta Capital Region.

Transforming Goods into Good Deeds

United Way's Give for Good is a new and streamlined way to donate excess goods, allowing individuals to effortlessly clear out items they no longer need while feeling good about their contributions, knowing that their donations go directly to those in need without any exchange of money or negotiation.

How it Works

This process not only simplifies giving but also provides the invaluable satisfaction of knowing that a person’s donation items have made a meaningful impact in someone else’s life.

Specifically, Give for Good works by facilitating direct giving between givers and our social impact partners. People can upload items that they want to give or browse and fulfill requests from agencies/organizations to directly meet the unique needs of people in need.

Accepted Items:

  • Baby Items (ex. bathing and changing, formula, baby clothes, highchair, stroller)
  • Books and Textbooks
  • Bikes, tricycles, and more
  • New or gently used clothing (ex. winter outerwear, costumes, etc.)
  • Electronics (ex. computers, TVs, video games, etc.)
  • Health and Wellness (ex. hygiene products, etc.)
  • Home Items (ex. appliances, furniture, storage and organization)
  • Sports and Exercise (ex. sporting equipment and accessories, etc.)
