For vulnerable students, graduating is about more than just getting good grades. Healthy relationships with family and friends, secure food and housing, and mental health resources are vital in supporting students on their educational journey. All in for Youth (AIFY) brings together local services to help address the complex needs children and families experience when living with low income. By being there for youth on their educational journey, your support of AIFY can increase high school completion rates and set the next generation up for success.

For many local students, the goal of graduation is out of reach because of personal or family-related challenges. Furthermore, parents who don’t complete high school are most likely to have children who follow this pattern, perpetuating a cycle of financial insecurity.
United Way and its strategic partners are helping kids from the start! Support is offered for early learning and development through all the school years to graduation. With your help, we can create a future where everyone can achieve their dreams through financial stability.
Through the collaboration of ten local partners, AIFY offers multiple supports both in and out of school that help improve academic achievement, increase school and community engagement, and develop resilience to handle life’s challenges. They provide essential support to meet the day-to-day needs of vulnerable students and their families.
All in for Youth supports children from Kindergarten through Grade 12 in eight schools where there is a high need for services:

All in for Youth develops students’ and families’ individual capacity. Supporting students’ success in school creates community-wide benefits, such as:
The All in for Youth collaborative has rallied local partners to provide the unique services students and families need to change their circumstances and create a better future – for them and our community.
Supporting students with mentors such as adult mentoring, teen mentoring, corporate mentoring, and community-based mentoring. High school students can also act as mentors for their younger peers.
Providing nutritious meals to students so that no child goes hungry.
Helping students to develop positive esteem, adaptability, persistence, and social and emotional connectedness that increases their potential to succeed in school and prepares them for adulthood.
Providing students with intentional programs that support their growth and academic, cultural, emotional, and physical development.
Helping parents and caregivers though in-home supports to enhance their parenting capacity and the overall family well-being. Caregivers are supported to provide a safe, supportive environment for their children, reduce risk factors, and enhance family protective factors.
AIFY students and families have access to one-on-one or group mental health services to support the healthy development of students and address the complex needs faced by socially vulnerable students and their families. Therapists also support school staff and provide education around mental health issues.
