Blogger's birthday wish is making a big difference

For her birthday Jennifer Banks, an Edmonton blogger, (techmommy.ca) asked her readers, friends and family to make her day by giving to charity, snapping a picture of the act and making sure she saw it by posting it to twitter or facebook. The request inspired more than 100 public acts of kindness and giving in the four days leading up to her birthday, from people determined to make her day and those of others better.

People from across the country have been taking pictures of themselves while making donations, volunteering, or helping out their neighbours and sharing them online.

Though her birthday has passed she plans to continue to inspire acts of kindness all year round by launching a website - a place where givers and receivers can share the change being made in their communities.
