ATB Financial President and CEO Dave Mowat has had a career-long passion for community issues, and for using business practices and banking skills to help people and improve communities.

Since moving back to his native Alberta from B.C. in 2007 to lead ATB, Alberta’s biggest homegrown financial institution, Dave has set his sights squarely on helping Albertans through his work with several community organizations. He’s chairman of the STARS Foundation, and he’s a member of the Telus Community Board, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, the Alberta Emerald Foundation, the Devonian Botanic Gardens, as well as several Alberta economic and post-secondary education boards.

While at VanCity Savings, his previous CEO post, the Vancouver Board of Trade awarded Dave its Community Leadership Award for his contributions to numerous Lower Mainland organizations, including the Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation and B.C. Social Venture Partners.

He has brought back to his home province an excitement about the possibilities that exist in Alberta, and at the Alberta Capital Region United Way.
